Bands of heavy rainfall associated with Hurricane Isaias are expected to develop across eastern Georgia into the Lowcountry of South Carolina beginning late tonight and throughout the day on Saturday. Heavy rainfall combined with astronomical high tides could result in flash flooding and localized significant flooding especially across coastal South Carolina.
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following areas, Bulloch, Candler, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty, Coastal McIntosh, Effingham, Evans, Inland Bryan, Inland Chatham, Inland Liberty, Inland McIntosh, Jenkins, Long, Screven and Tattnall and southeast South Carolina, including the following areas, Allendale, Beaufort, Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper, Dorchester, Hampton, Inland Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Inland Jasper and Tidal Berkeley.
* WHEN...From 8 PM EDT this evening through late Saturday night.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Bands of heavy rainfall will move into eastern Georgia tonight then spread northward into the Lowcountry of South Carolina throughout the day on Saturday. Widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches with locally up to 6 inches across eastern Georgia are possible and 3 to 6 inches locally up to 8+ inches across South Carolina. Rainfall rates of 2 inches per hour will be possible in the heaviest bands. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
