At 303 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 32 nm west of Egmont Key to 20 nm southwest of Manasota Key to 7 nm south of Captiva, moving south at 10 knots.
