Areas of heavy rain, along with snow above 2,600 ft, will continue to fall across the Anchorage Bowl and Matanuska Valley through the morning commute. Heavy rain may lead to ponding of water on area roadways and localized areas of urban flooding in poor drainage areas. Snow may accumulate up to one inch for the higher elevations of the Anchorage and Eagle River Hillsides, above 2,600 ft. Gusty winds up to 35 mph at times is possible at lower elevations with gusts up to 50 mph along the hillside.
The combination of heavy rain and strong winds can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Heavy rain may also cause ponding of water on area roadways. Use caution when traveling.
