Gale Warning

* WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and seas 12 to 17 ft expected.

* WHERE...The coastal and offshore waters from Cape Hatteras to Ocracoke Inlet.

* WHEN...From 2 PM Wednesday to 6 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong coastal low will develop offshore east of North Carolina by Wednesday, then move north towards the coast of New England by the end of the week. This low is expected to produce an extended period of hazardous marine conditions for much of the ENC waters.
