UPDATE: Based on upstream river observations and forecast winds, flooding looks very unlikely along the Kuskokwim and Johnson Rivers. However, bankfull conditions and winds gusting up to 30 to 45 mph may still impact activities along the river.

Hydrologic Concerns:

* Gusty winds and storm surge pushing up the river will likely cause water levels to reach bankfull.

* Flooding will be very unlikely as high water currently in McGrath and Crooked Creek is now forecast to arrive in the lower Kuskokwim River after the storm surge has subsided.

Locations:

* Along Kuskokwim River, from Bethel south to Napakiak.

* Along Johnson River, from Nunapitchuk and Kasigluk south to the Kuskokwim River.

Timing:

* Highest water levels will likely occur around high tide on Friday, from about 12 PM through 5 PM.

* Strongest winds (south to southwesterly, gusting up to 30 to 45 mph) from about 1 AM through 4 PM Friday.

Next Steps:

* Use caution along the Kuskokwim and Johnson Rivers, and plan for higher than normal water levels.
