At 422 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles north of Benson, or 10 miles west of Smithfield, moving southeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Benson, Four Oaks and Coats Crossroads.
This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 90 and 79. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 316 and 338.
