.Significant rainfall over the past 3 to 4 days has resulted in flooding along the White River and associated tributaries in central Indiana. Major to record flooding is occurring along the White River near Indianapolis and in the northeastern portion of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Residents of these areas in flood zones are advised to follow the recommendations of local emergency officials, as evacuations have occurred in some areas.

Additional rain is possible at times through the weekend. Please stay advised of the latest forecasts and conditions through the weekend into next week, especially those who live near waterways or other flood prone areas.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River at Muncie.

* WHEN...Until early Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Riverview and McCulloch Parks, including park roads, begin to flood. Backyards of houses in Yorktown along Buck Creek begin to flood. Backyards of houses and outbuildings along White River in Muncie begin to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 10.6 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:30 AM EDT Saturday was 14.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
