For the Upper Gila...including Gila River near Solomon...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record.
* WHERE...Gila River near Gila River near Solomon.
* WHEN...Until late tonight.
* IMPACTS...At 22.5 feet, Bridges in Safford Valley closed and extensive agricultural flooding. Homes and structures closest to the river threatened.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:30 AM MST Wednesday the stage was 22.2 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 19.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 5:30 AM MST Wednesday was 22.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 22.7 feet between 8 and 9 am MST this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late this afternoon to 17.2 feet just after midnight tonight.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
- A 22.7 feet crest exceeds the previous historical high crest of 20.8 feet on 10/02/1983.
