.Heavy to extreme rainfall across northern central Indiana since last week has produced minor to moderate flooding along most of the Wabash River from Lafayette down to Riverton already, with the crest in moderate flood passing Montezuma very slowly as of Thursday afternoon. Moderate flooding has also reached Terre Haute and the crest will take a couple of days to pass. This first crest should reach Vincennes around Tuesday. The heavy rainfall Wednesday through early Thursday morning across the area is bringing a secondary crest and renewed flooding to the Lafayette area, but this secondary crest will spread out by the time it gets further downriver and should not raise the primary crest but instead keep the river in flood longer.
