At 109 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 5 miles northwest of Taylorsville to 5 miles west of Lenoir. Movement was southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include... Hickory, Lenoir, Taylorsville, Statesville, Newton, St. Stephens, Conover, Longview, Sawmills, and Granite Falls.
