The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for... The island of Maui in Maui County
* Until 545 PM HST.
* At 219 PM HST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain over eastern Maui. Rain rates have diminished to 1 inch per hour or less. The heaviest rain continues to fall over the eastern portion of the island from Kipahulu to Hana to Nahiku. The water level at Oheo Gulch is slowly rising. Flash flooding is ongoing.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Kipahulu, Kaupo, Nahiku, Keanae, Kula, Makawao, Keokea, Pukalani, Hana, Huelo and Haiku-Pauwela.
