Latest satellite and model trends depict decreasing showers across Chuuk State this evening as the broad surface trough nearby extending into TS Mekkhala has shifted farther north, and the weak disturbance that was Invest 93W has been closed by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, becoming part of the open surface trough. Locally heavy showers will remain possible from time to time over the next few days as an unsettled pattern remains nearby, but overall the threat for widespread heavy rains, flooding, and mudslide potential has diminished.
