* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...South Central Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...
* WHEN...Until 500 PM MST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry washes. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 157 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. - McClellan Wash is the most likely place to experience minor flooding. An automated stream gauge located at McClellan Wash and the CAP Canal reported a stage of 11 feet. At 12 feet, flooding is possible in Picacho and Eloy. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Picacho and Eloy. - This includes the following highways... Route 87 between mile markers 116 and 117. Interstate 10 between mile markers 212 and 221. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
