At 959 AM EDT, Doppler radar and area rain gauges indicated between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen from thunderstorms earlier this morning. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Madison, Hamlin, Chapmanville, Spurlockville, Gill, Harts, Julian, Ranger, Danville, Mud, Palermo, Alkol, Woodville, Yawkey, Griffithsville, Turtle Creek, Myra, Sweetland, Foster and Jeffrey.
This includes Route 119 between mile markers 35 and 61.
