For the following areas... Waters from South Santee River to Edisto Beach out 60 NM...

At 316 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located near Doug Mellichamp Reef, moving southeast at 15 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 34 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include... Doug Mellichamp Reef, Comanche Reef, Capers Mid Shelf, Y-73 Reef and Edisto Buoy.
