For the Canadian River...including DUMMY SITE, Canadian 2NE, Amarillo 19N...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Canadian River at Amarillo 19N.
* WHEN...Until late Friday night.
* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Portions of Rosita Creek Flats Recreational Area floods. Primitive campers and recreational vehicles are in imminent danger. Dirt roads that lead to highway 287 from Rosita Creek Flats are impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 9.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 3:30 PM CDT Wednesday was 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Friday afternoon and continue falling to 5.1 feet early Monday afternoon. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.5 feet on 06/24/1996. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
