At 534 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring with Flash flooding reported in the Old Nogales Highway and Aerospace Parkway area.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Tucson, Drexel Heights, Pascua Pueblo Yaqui Reservation, San Xavier Community, Summit, Tucson International Airport, Valencia West and San Xavier Mission.
This includes Interstate 19 between mile markers 52 and 58.
This includes the following Flash Flood Prone Locations... Country Club Rd at Franco Wash, Mark Rd from Jeffery Rd to Los Reales Rd, Mission Rd from Valencia Rd to San Xavier Rd, Old Vail COnnection Rd at Franco Wash and Black Wash at S Camino de Oeste.
