* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC, Ashe and Wilkes and southwest Virginia, including the following county, Grayson.
* WHEN...Until 215 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1115 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated slow moving moderate to heavy rain showers. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Brush Creek, Cove Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Cane Creek, Beaver Creek, Church Branch, East Prong Roaring River, Clear Branch, Bee Tree Branch, Crab Fork, Basin Creek, Darnell Creek and Bridle Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sparta...
