At 250 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles northwest of Knotts Island to 6 miles west of Northwest. Movement was southeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail, and frequent lightning.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes.
Strong thunderstorms will be near... Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Northwest, and Moyock around 255 PM EDT. Knotts Island around 300 PM EDT.
