The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Washington County in southwestern Utah...

* Until 130 PM MDT.

* At 1106 AM MDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Springdale. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported. The North Fork Virgin River gauge near Springdale has spiked, indicating a flood wave may be progressing down the river. This may result in flood waters crossing SR-9 further downstream within the next 1-2 hours.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hurricane, La Verkin, Apple Valley, Virgin, Springdale and Rockville. Flash flooding along the Virgin River has been observed crossing roads, primarily SR-9 across multiple UDOT cameras in the area.
