The National Weather Service in Jackson has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Estill County in east central Kentucky... Southwestern Powell County in east central Kentucky...

* Until 200 PM EDT.

* At 1151 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain moving back into the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen across the warned area since 6 AM. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area between 12 and 2 PM. This will result in flash flooding.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Stanton, Irvine, Clay City, Ravenna, Hardwick, Cottage Furnace, North Irvine, Kimbrell, Willow Tree, Vaughns Mill, Cow Creek, Hargett, Calloway Crossing, Wiseman Crossing Station, Spout Springs, West Irvine, Weedon, South Irvine, Pitts and Sandhill.
