* Special Marine Warning for... S of Cape Hatteras NC to Ocracoke Inlet NC out to 20 NM... S of Ocracoke Inlet NC to Cape Lookout NC out to 20 NM... Waters from Cape Hatteras to Ocracoke Inlet NC from 20 to 60 NM... Waters from Ocracoke Inlet to Cape Lookout NC from 20 to 60 NM...

* Until 530 AM EDT.

* At 437 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 18 nm east of Atlas Tanker, moving northeast at 10 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
