...The Flood Advisory continues for the following rivers in Arizona...
Gila River At Gila River at Duncan affecting Greenlee County.
Gila River Near Gila River near Solomon affecting Graham County.
Gila River Near Gila River at Calva affecting Graham County.
For the Upper Gila...including Gila River at Duncan, Gila River at Calva, Gila River near Solomon...elevated river levels are forecast.
* WHAT...The Gila River is expected to exceed bankfull levels at 15 feet early this afternoon, reaching a maximum stage of 18.5 feet in the mid-afternoon hours. The stage is expected to remain above bankfull into midday Friday. A secondary crest is possible Saturday due to excessive rainfall that occurred in previous days.
* WHERE...Gila River near Gila River at Calva.
* WHEN...Until Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, water could begin to damage the dike structure that protects Duncan.
At 18.0 ft, water can reach near the top of the dike structure and may cause erosion downstream of the bridge.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:00 AM MST Thursday the stage was 7.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will oscillate below flood stage with a maximum value of 18.5 feet late this afternoon. - Action stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
