The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Western Cobb County in north central Georgia... Northeastern Douglas County in north central Georgia...

* Until 715 AM EDT.

* At 119 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Marietta, Kennesaw, Acworth, Powder Springs, Austell, Fair Oaks, Lithia Springs, Due West, Jim R Miller Park, Lost Mountain Park, Kennesaw State University and Mableton.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Clark Creek, Chattahoochee River, Gothards Creek, Mud Creek, Westbrook Creek, Noonday Creek, Dry Creek, Ward Creek, Etowah River, Nickajack Creek, Noses Creek, Sweetwater Creek, Butternut Creek, Rottenwood Creek and Powder Springs Creek.
