* WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip currents and breaking waves due to elevated surf expected. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding and elevated surf expected.
* WHERE...Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands, Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches.
* WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, from Tuesday afternoon through late Tuesday night. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 6 AM Wednesday to 11 PM PDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Moderate flooding of sea water is likely over some vulnerable low-lying coastal areas, especially around the time of high tide, including over beach parking lots, bike paths, and harbor walkways. Moderate beach erosion is likely. Isolated damage is unlikely but possible. There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Coastal flooding impacts will be greatest for Long Beach, Catalina Island, Zuma Beach and Malibu.
