* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Kansas and southwest Nebraska.
* WHEN...From 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ Saturday to 10 PM CDT /9 PM MDT/ Monday.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. Livestock may be stressed as well due to multiple days of triple digit heat.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hottest day of this period is currently forecast to be Sunday where air temperatures are forecast to exceed 105 degrees. For Saturday, there is some question about how high heat indices may get as drier air may get pulled down from aloft. This signal weakens some for Sunday, so Sunday may be the most impactful day for heat related impacts. Minimal overnight recovery is also forecast as temperatures may not fall below 70-75 degrees.
