.Major river flooding is expected. Heavy rainfall of three to eight or more inches will bring major flooding to area waterways, including the Big Blue River at Shelbyville. Other areas such as the Driftwood near Edinburgh and the Flatrock River at Columbus should expect moderate river flooding as well. At the current time, further downstream locations on the East Fork White can expect minor lowland flooding, but may approach moderate levels.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Muscatatuck River at Vernon.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Sandbagging of a few homes near the Muscatatuck River in the Vernon area during March 2008 high water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:30 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 24.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 6:30 PM EDT Wednesday was 24.4 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 25.0 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight to 4.5 feet Friday morning. It will rise to 5.7 feet early Saturday morning.
