Details
At 326 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles southwest of Gallup, moving northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Two inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include... Gallup, Church Rock, Yah-Ta-Hey, Rock Springs, Fort Wingate, Red Rock State Park, Allison, Gamerco and Mentmore.
This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 10 and 41.
Instructions
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing dangerous hail and damaging winds.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT Thursday for a portion of west central New Mexico.
