Flood Advisory

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following counties, Beaufort, Hyde and Tyrrell.

* WHEN...Until 700 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 358 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fairfield, Swindell Fork, Gull Rock, Scranton, Ponzer, New Holland, Rose Bay, Nebraska, Leechville, Lake Landing, Lake Mattamuskeet and Swan Quarter Ferry Terminal. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
