For the following areas... Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...
At 548 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Knapps Narrows Bridge to 8 nm northwest of Broomes Island to U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, moving east at 30 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots and small hail.
SOURCE...Observed wind.
IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds.
Locations impacted include... Cobb Island, Swan Point, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River, Popes Creek, and Westmoreland State Park.
