* WHAT...Large breaking waves up to 11 feet expected in the surf zone. Dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...For the High Surf Advisory, along south and west facing reefs of the Marianas. For the High Rip Current Risk, along south, west, and north facing reefs of the Marianas.
* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 4 PM ChST Thursday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) and the trailing monsoon surge will keep producing significant swells from the west and southwest. Large surf heights up to 11 feet can be expected along west and south facing reefs at least through 4 PM Thursday. As Bavi continues to pull away and the leading monsoon surge weakens, swells and associated surf will continue to diminish. Even so, surf will remain elevated enough to continue to produce high risk of rip currents along south, west, and north facing reefs the next few days, while dropping to moderate along north reefs Thursday.
