At 930 AM CDT...Scattered thunderstorms were located mainly across much of the open Alabama waters from 10 to 60 nm offshore and were typically moving southwest at 20 knots. Waterspouts will be possible with these storms along with wind gusts up to 30 knots... locally higher waves...and heavy downpours. Boaters should consider seeking safe harbor until this storm has passed.
Weather conditions support the development of waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waves and seas. If a waterspout is sighted...seek safe harbor immediately.
