...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Indiana...Illinois...
Wabash River at Riverton.
Wabash River at Terre Haute.
Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.
Wabash River at Montezuma.
Wabash River at Covington.
Wabash River at Vincennes.
.Moderate flooding continues on the Wabash River at Montezuma, where the river is just past crest as of late Wednesday morning. The river should crest at Terre Haute Thursday through Friday and make its way downriver to reach Vincennes around the middle of next week. Additional rainfall through Friday morning of around an inch was included in the forecast for the upper Wabash and about 1.5 inches over the lower Wabash, with only a quarter inch over the middle Wabash. Changes in the amounts or location of the rainfall will impact the crest and amount of time in flood.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Riverton.
* WHEN...Until Saturday, August 29.
* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Flooding becomes more serious. Water is approaching critical levels on most levees. Flooding enters some river cabins. Flooding is at the outskirts of Palestine and Russellville, Illinois. Flood waters near Illinois 33 between Palestine and Hutsonville, Illinois. Many local river roads are flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM EDT Wednesday /9:00 AM CDT Wednesday/ the stage was 18.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 AM EDT Wednesday /9:00 AM CDT Wednesday/ was 18.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.1 feet Sunday evening.
