Hurricane Lala will continue to bring heavy rain to the Big Island and Maui County through late tonight, and bring heavy rain to Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau this evening through late Sunday night.
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE...Maui and The Big Island.
* WHEN...Through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Hurricane Lala will continue to bring heavy rain to the Big Island and Maui through late tonight. At this time, amounts of 10 to 20 inches are possible over windward areas of Big Island, with 8 to 12 inches over windward areas of Maui. Higher localized amounts are possible.
