* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Western Sierra County in south central New Mexico...
* WHEN...Until 530 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 127 PM MDT, Moderate rainfall continues to stream across western Sierra County. This will lead to a slow but steady increase in flows on area streams and arroyos, and accumulating water in poor drainage areas through the afternoon. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cuchillo, Hillsboro, San Miguel, Kingston, Ladder Ranch, Alamosa Canyon and Upper Palomas Canyon. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
