...ENHANCED EAST-NORTHEAST WINDS WILL PROMOTE BREEZY AND VERY DRY CONDITIONS TUESDAY...
.A thermal trough developing along the coast will attribute to east-northeast winds bringing a very dry airmass to the area. Enhanced winds will also be present, providing critical fire weather spread potential Tuesday.
The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 691 Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon, 701 Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Oregon and 702 East Slopes of the Mt. Hood National Forest.
* TIMING...From Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.
* WINDS...Northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 13 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
