Details

* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one half foot of inundation above ground level along shorelines and tidal waterways (7.1 to 7.3 feet Mean Lower Low Water at Charleston). For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...Charleston County.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 11 AM EDT this morning. For the High Rip Current Risk, through this evening.
* IMPACTS...This could result in some roads becoming impassable. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide will occur around 9:15 AM this morning at Charleston. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after high tide.

Instructions

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
Visit water.weather.gov for additional water level and flood impact information.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
