The National Weather Service in Paducah has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Perry County in south central Illinois... Jackson County in southern Illinois... Williamson County in southern Illinois...

* Until 745 AM CDT.

* At 355 AM CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Carbondale, Marion, Herrin, Murphysboro, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Carterville, Johnston City, De Soto, Crainville, Cambria, Energy, Elkville, Hurst, Ava, Tamaroa, Pittsburg, Creal Springs, Cedar Lake Area and Lake Of Egypt Area.
