The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Central De Witt County in central Illinois... Northern Piatt County in central Illinois... West Central Champaign County in east central Illinois...

* Until 1230 AM CDT.

* At 929 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mahomet, Mansfield, De Land, Weldon, White Heath, Seymour, De Witt, Galesville, Lodge, Clinton Power Station and Lane.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 72 between mile markers 170 and 177. Interstate 74 between mile markers 163 and 172.
