* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Central Union County, North Carolina.
* WHEN...Until 1130 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. At least one road remains closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 724 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain fell Thursday night. - Both the North and South Forks of Crooked Creek are at an elevated stage and may be causing flooding of low lying areas along the creek basin, northwest of Monroe and near Hemby Bridge. Minor flooding has been observed at multiple road crossings of the creek. Bearskin Creek in Monroe is also out of its banks and may be flooding the greenway at Dickerson Park. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Monroe, Matthews, Indian Trail, Stallings, Unionville, Wingate, Lake Park, Hemby Bridge and Fairview In Union County. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
