...The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in Arizona...
Gila River At Gila River at Duncan affecting Greenlee County.
For the Upper Gila...including Gila River at Duncan, Gila River near Solomon...elevated river levels are forecast.
* WHAT...The Gila River is expected to exceed bankfull levels at 16 feet Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening due to excessive rainfall that occurred in previous days.
* WHERE...Gila River at Gila River at Duncan.
* WHEN...From this evening to late Friday night.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, water could begin to damage the dike structure that protects Duncan.
At 18.0 ft, water can reach near the top of the dike structure and may cause erosion downstream of the bridge.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 PM MST Wednesday the stage was 15.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will then fall to 12.4 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will rise to 17.2 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall and remain below flood stage. - Action stage is 16.0 feet. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
