Clusters of thunderstorms have developed both to the south and east of Middleton Island as well as west of Kayak Island this afternoon. These storms have had a history of producing frequent lightning. Mariners can expect erratic and gusty winds, locally higher waves, and frequent lightning strikes if around these storms. Additionally, small hail is possible in some of the stronger storms. Thunderstorm activity will taper off this evening as the activity moves southeast over the open waters of the central Gulf of Alaska.
