...The Flood Advisory is extended for the following rivers in South Carolina...North Carolina...
(English) Broad River Near at Shelby Hwy (SC 18), 4 W Blacksburg affecting Cleveland and Cherokee Counties.
.Heavy tropical showers will continue to overspread the Broad River basin through tonight with 3 or 4 inches of rain accumulating. Excessive runoff remains likely to develop pushing the river out of it's banks on Sunday.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...(English) Broad River near at Shelby Hwy (SC 18), 4 W Blacksburg.
* WHEN...Until Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Action Stage Flooding continues. At this level, minor flooding of low-lying farmland along the river may be ongoing. Areas along Buffalo Breek may be beginning to flood due to backwater effects. At 15.0 feet, Action Stage Flooding continues. The Broad River may be approaching River Rd. and Little Hope Rd. near US 29. Adjacent farmland and low-lying area flooding is continuing.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 2.7 feet and rising slowly. - Bankfull stage is 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.9 feet Monday morning with a reasonable worse case scenario of near 18 feet. - Action stage is 13.0 feet. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
