...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Oklahoma...
Chikaskia River near Blackwell affecting Kay and Grant Counties.
* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Chikaskia River near Blackwell.
* WHEN...Until tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS...At 34.0 feet, Floodwaters cover much of the northeast portions of Blackwell. Residences and businesses suffer significant damages. Street flooding reaches very dangerous depths and speeds. Highway 177 north of Blackwell is closed. Blackwell Avenue east and Hubbard Road southeast of Blackwell are impassable. Rural lands are covered by floodwaters ranging up to 6 feet in depth in extreme northeastern Grant and Kay counties.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 33.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 28.0 feet. - Forecast...The Chikaskia River is expected to rise to a crest of 33.8 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 29.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 33.9 feet on 10/11/1973. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
