At 527 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Walsenburg, or 35 miles northwest of Trinidad, moving southeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Walsenburg, La Veta, La Veta Pass, Spring Burn Scar north of Highway 160, and northern Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Huerfano county.
