At 753 PM MDT, Arizona DOT reported flooding along Highway 160 near Tsegi from earlier heavy rainfall. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Arizona DOT reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Tsegi.
This includes the following highways... Highway 160 between mile markers 370 and 390. Highway 163 between mile markers 402 and 408. State Route 564 between mile markers 375 and 382.
This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Shonto Wash, Laguna Creek, Cutfoot Wash, Parrish Creek, Capitan Wash, El, Tsegi Canyon and Narrow Canyon Wash.
