At 706 AM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 45 nm south of Farewell Buoy to 50 nm east of Pilottown to 71 nm east of Southwest Pass Of the Mississippi River, moving south at 15 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and small hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
A cluster of severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.
