.Heavy rain of 5 to 10 inches over the past 24 hours will cause the Peace River at Arcadia to rise above major flood stage.
* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Peace River at Arcadia at SR 70.
* WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Up to 60 homes at River Acres are flooded. The Woman's Club and American Legion are impacted.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM EST Monday the stage was 9.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 17.1 feet Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 17.2 feet on 09/11/2004. - https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
