The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Yavapai County in west central Arizona...

* Until 445 AM MST.

* At 152 AM MST, a river gauge on Granite Creek in Prescott reported a rapid rise of 4 feet from thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Granite Creek River Gauge. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen recently. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...River gauge reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Chino Valley, Prescott, Prescott Regional Airport, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Willow Creek Reservoir, Watson Lake, Downtown Prescott, Jim McCasland Willow Creek Park, Watson Lake Park, Whipple, AC Williams Granite Creek Park, Courthouse Plaza and Acker Park.

This includes the following highways... State Route 69 near mile marker 296. State Route 89 between mile markers 310 and 320. State Route 89A between mile markers 318 and 319.

This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Acker Park, AC Williams Granite Creek Park and Watson Lake Park.

This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Willow Creek, Verde River, Bottleneck Wash, Little Chino Valley, Miller Creek, Granite Creek and Bannon Creek.
