The National Weather Service in Flagstaff AZ has issued a Fire Weather Watch due to strong winds and low relative humidity.
* WHAT...Critical fire weather conditions. Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph and relative humidity 6 to 15 percent.
* WHERE...Kaibab Plateau, Marble and Glen Canyons, Grand Canyon Country, Coconino Plateau, Yavapai County Mountains, Northeast Plateaus and Mesas Hwy 264 Northward, Chinle Valley, Chuska Mountains and Defiance Plateau, Little Colorado River Valley in Coconino County, Little Colorado River Valley in Navajo County, Little Colorado River Valley in Apache County, Western Mogollon Rim, Eastern Mogollon Rim, White Mountains, Northern Gila County, Yavapai County Valleys and Basins, Oak Creek and Sycamore Canyons, Black Mesa Area, and Northeast Plateaus and Mesas South of Hwy 264. This includes portions of the Apache-Sitgreaves, Coconino, Kaibab, Prescott, and Tonto national forests.
* WHEN...From Friday morning through Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS...Rapid spread and growth of any new or existing fires. Fires will have the potential to exhibit extreme fire behavior. Elevated potential for new fire starts.
